30 Day Worship Challenge – Day 30

Day 30 Psalm 9:1-2   “I will praise you, O LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of your wonders. I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.” Meditation – Rarely do we enter God’s presence fully surrendered. We often hold back portions of ourselves. God’s desire is for us to offer ourselves wholly to him. Only then can true worship occur. And only then can true change occur. Prompt/Response…

30 Day Worship Challenge – Day 29

Day 29 Romans 12:1    “I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship” . Meditation – When you offer Him everything, that is your entire being, you show how much you value God. You are called to a worship commitment, not just a worship event.  So ask yourself, “How can I show God that He is worth my worth-ship?”  Prompt/Response…

30 Day Worship Challenge – Day 28

Day 28 1 Chronicles 16:28-31   “Ascribe to the LORD, O families of nations, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength, ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name. Bring an offering and come before him; worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness. Tremble before him, all the earth! The world is firmly established; it cannot be moved. Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let them say among the nations, “The LORD reigns!” “…

30 Day Worship Challenge – Day 27

Day 27 1 Chronicles 16:23-25   “Sing to the LORD, all the earth; proclaim his salvation day after day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples. For great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all gods.”  Meditation – One of the most common ways we worship is through singing. Throughout scripture, especially the Psalms, we’re told over and over again to “sing to the Lord.” When we choose…

30 Day Worship Challenge – Day 26

Day 26 Psalm 132:7   “Let us go to his dwelling place; let us worship at his footstool.” Meditation – God is omnipresent (meaning, he’s everywhere all the time). Therefore, God doesn’t need for us to “go to him” to worship….he’s already there. “Going to his dwelling place” is more about us than anything. When we focus on WHO we’re worshiping and WHY we’re worshiping, all our attention is on God….which allows us to fully enter the place in which he…

30 Day Worship Challenge – Day 25

Day 25 Isaiah 6:3   “And one called to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!”” Meditation – We are told in Revelation that heaven is filled with 24-hour singing of this very scripture! When we worship, no matter the format, we are joining with ALL of heaven in worship of our Amazing God! Prompt/Response – Listen to (Chris Tomlin – “Holy Is The Lord”) and sing along…

June 23 Church update

Grace Community Church Family, Our Church Council decided that beginning this Sunday face masks may be removed during the sermon.  I appreciate the work of the Church Council and thank God for their willingness to find unity and consensus even among a diversity of views.  Their decision was not based on fear or politics, but on the biblical principles of submission to authority and loving your neighbor.  This decision is consistent with the latest guidelines from the Governor that were issued last Friday and allows…

30 Day Worship Challenge – Day 24

Day 24 Psalm 36:5-6   “Your love, O LORD, reaches to the heavens; your faithfulness to the skies. Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, your justice like the great deep.” Meditation – To worship with gratitude we need to first have an understanding of true joy! As you read this scripture, listen to (Third Day – “Your Love O Lord”) while you’re reading.  Prompt/Response – Spend time reflecting on the love God has shown you throughout your life. Think about…

30 Day Worship Challenge – Day 23

Day 23 Psalm 30:4-5   “Sing to the LORD, you saints of his; praise his holy name. For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may last for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.” Meditation – These verses remind us of God’s faithfulness to us! He promises that he’s always there for us in the midst of trials and struggles. In our humanness, it’s often difficult to find joy in the middle of…

30 Day Worship Challenge – Day 22

Day 22 Hebrews 1:3  “He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.”  Meditation- No sin is too big for the Ruler of the universe to handle. He can and will forgive us when we come to him through his Son. The work Jesus did…
