Are you looking for a mission trip, but don't want to travel outside the United States? Maybe Buffalo is just the opportunity you are looking for. We will be serving people in a district that has substantial needs. This is a great trip for families and people of all ages to serve together. Projects will include all skill levels. Lodging and meals are provided while serving with EDOH. If riding on the church bus seems to be too much for you, you can fly at your own expense and arrangements for transportation to and from the airport will be available. There are lots of variables to this mission opportunity. If you can't be gone for that many days but still want to serve, please contact Kathleen at kathleen@gracefs.com to discuss alternatives. More details:
- Food and lodging while in Buffalo is free. You bring a cot or air mattress and all your bedding/sleeping bag, bath towel and toiletries.
- Lodging for Men will be at a local school and lodging for Women will be at a local church.
- Shower trailers will be set up at each lodging facility.
- Expect to serve along with 1800-2000 other volunteers from all over the country.
- You will also need sturdy work shoes, gloves, sunscreen, hat, water bottle and Bible.
- All work tools will be provided.
- Eight Days of Hope will give you two event shirts to wear while working.
- Laundry service (free of charge) will be offered to all volunteers.
- Approximately $150-$200 in spending money for meals while traveling, fees for Niagara Falls excursion, souvenirs, etc. EDOH will sell merchandise (tshirts, hats, journals) at the event.
- An excursion day to Niagara Falls will be planned. The day and time will be announced to the group.
- Each day will begin and end with worship and devotion.
- This is a family friendly trip.
- People traveling with the group will ride the church bus or van and will leave on Friday, July 17th at 7:00 p.m. We will drive straight through (rotating drivers) and arrive in Buffalo in time for dinner at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 18th. We will leave on Saturday, July 24 at 9:00 a.m.
- Deadline to sign up is May 15th. Seats are limited.
